Hop BroManchin Brewing is not just any brewery. It's inside a huge multi-purpose complex in Hokuto City, renovated by DIY from a former camera tripod factory.
MugiA tripod factory!? What is that, it has nothing to do with beer at all!
Hop BroThe entire facility is integrated with a contemporary art exhibition space called GASBON METABOLISM, and Manchin Brewing is the brewery section. It also includes Manchin Saketen, a taproom and bottle shop, and Manchin Po, a beer restaurant. The whole place is made up of three "Manchin" sections, meaning "many wonders."

Hop BroThey actually host music festivals too. It's called the Manchin Music Festival, a full-venue event with live performances, a marche, a flea market, and more. They even plan day parties featuring overseas DJs like Geju.

Hop BroTheir flagship, "NEW COLONY," uses saison yeast for a dry finish, with fruity ester aromas and clove-like notes. With an IBU of 20, the bitterness is restrained, making it an easy beer to pair with food.

Hop BroThis is the fun part: they knead malt leftover from brewing into the wrappers for their dumplings. That's upcycling. On top of that, the brewing water comes from underground springs of nearby Mt. Kayagatake, and the location offers a panoramic view of the Southern Alps.
MugiMalt-filled dumplings! And art, music, beer, and the Southern Alps... there's no way you can enjoy it all in just one day! I'm definitely going!
