Manchin Brewing, which brews at the mixed-use complex MANGOSTEEN HOKUTO in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, has put its seasonal beer 'SUN SONG' on the shelf. In an Instagram post on May 21, the brewery introduced the scene inside the facility's 'Manchin Saketen,' 'Manchin Pao,' and 'Manchin Brewing,' saying, 'It's beer season now.'

MANGOSTEEN HOKUTO is a base converted through DIY from a former factory that once produced camera tripods. It brings together Manchin Brewing, the brewery; Manchin Saketen, a bottle shop and taproom; and Manchin Pao, a dining spot. Located amid the farmland of Akeno Town in Hokuto City, another feature is its setting with views of the Southern Alps and the Yatsugatake mountains. According to the facility guide, Manchin Brewing uses brewing water that includes groundwater from Mt. Kayagatake and incorporates local agricultural products, brewing a new beer almost every week.

The 'SUN SONG' featured in the post is a beer that combines chili and summer mandarin orange. Even from the ingredient pairing, it is clear that the brewery builds its flavors while keeping the season in mind. Rather than focusing on beer alone, Manchin Brewing has taken root in Hokuto as a place where people can enjoy retail drinks, food, and the spatial experience as a whole, and this post also conveys that everyday operating scene. How does Hokuto's environment get distilled into a single glass? It is the kind of news that makes you want to compare it from that perspective.
