Hop BroThe owner, Rinko Oshiro, used to run a craft-beer specialty bar in Naha called Beer bar Felt for 13 years. She also holds beer sommelier and beer taster certifications.
MugiThirteen years! She started brewing on her own after working with beer that long.
Hop BroAnd she even rebuilt her own home and turned it into a brewery. During the pandemic, finding a property was a struggle, but driven by her determination to brew in Naha no matter what, she started brewing in 2025.
MugiHer own house turned into a brewery... That's an incredible level of resolve.
Hop BroIt's a small taproom with five counter seats where you can enjoy six taps, and within six months of starting brewing they had already released 16 different beers. Their output is amazing.
MugiSixteen varieties in half a year!? That's an incredible pace! What kinds of beers do they make?
Hop BroThey focus on tropical hops that suit Okinawa's climate, and they also use local fruits and herbs. They have an amber-style beer called Amber Distortion and a beer called Thaw, and even their naming sense is great.
MugiA brewery run by someone who spent 13 years pouring beer at a bar really has a different kind of credibility. Since it's near Kokusai Street, I can just drop by while out for a walk. I want to go!
