Sakurazaka Brewery

Sakurazaka Brewery in Naha is a microbrewery located in the Sakurazaka area, just a short walk from Kokusai Street. The brewery is on the first floor of the guesthouse "Chanpuru."

A person named Takesho Haraguchi originally ran the guesthouse and cafe "KARIYUSHI COFFEE AND BEER STAND" in Sakurazaka, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to launch the brewery. His wish was to brew beer loved in Sakurazaka and breathe life back into the neighborhood.

What stands out is the lineup of beers that generously use fruits from Okinawa. The "Sakurazaka Pale Ale" uses kabuchi, a rare Okinawan mandarin, creating a bright citrus aroma.

It’s a native Okinawan mandarin that’s rich in terpenes, including limonene. There’s also a version of the "Sakurazaka Weizen" made with guava and fresh pineapple, giving it a sour, fruity finish. The "Sakurazaka Stout" is a dark beer paired with coffee.

You can also drink draft beer at the KARIYUSHI COFFEE AND BEER STAND diagonally across the street, so it’s nice to hop between coffee and beer. It has a casual style where you can sit on a bench and enjoy a drink while looking at the brewing tanks, and takeout is available too.

Sakurazaka is a downtown entertainment district in Naha with a unique atmosphere, home to places like the Sakurazaka Theater and old-fashioned drinking streets that still retain their original charm. Having a place where a guesthouse, coffee, and beer all come together really suits this neighborhood.
