HEAVY SASORI BREWING is a brewery near Kokusai Street in Makishi, Naha. In an Instagram post on June 22, the brewery introduced a new beer called NIOH’s Garden, written in Japanese as ニオウズガーデン/仁王の庭, and said it would be released on June 23.

The beer is an Okinawan Pale Ale at 6.5% ABV. The grist includes Extra Pale Premium Pilsner, Wheat Malt, and Munich I. Hops listed are Hallertau Blanc, Motueka, and Saaz, with Voss Kveik yeast. The recipe also uses shell ginger leaves, lemongrass, and guava leaves.

According to the brewery’s note, the beer aims for a bright citrus character from the Voss Kveik yeast, layered with herbs, soft sweetness, and a rounded mouthfeel that evokes Okinawa’s greenery. The post also ties the beer to family memories of a garden, giving the release a personal background in addition to its ingredient-driven profile.

For a young Naha brewery continuing to build its identity, NIOH’s Garden reads as a release that connects place, ingredients, and storytelling in a single pint.
