Heavy Sasori Brewing, which runs a taproom in Makishi, Naha City, Okinawa, has published its September schedule. The brewery is entering its first anniversary month with a mix of special programming and regular service, making it an easy stop for both locals and visitors looking for a fresh pint.

Thank-you week runs from September 19 to 26

The main event is the brewery’s first-anniversary “Thank You Week,” set for Saturday, September 19 through Saturday, September 26. The centerpiece is Sunday, September 20, when the brewery will hold the anniversary event called “Hebisaso Festival.” On that day, it will operate from 4:00 p.m. to midnight and extend beer and food service outside, creating a more open, festival-like atmosphere.

A special first-anniversary West Coast IPA is also scheduled for release that day. The brewery says the whole team, not just the head brewer, will be on hand. Outside of September 20, the thank-you week will follow the regular schedule, so drinkers looking for a quieter visit will still have that option.

Open through the Silver Week holiday stretch

Heavy Sasori Brewing also says it will stay open throughout the Silver Week holidays. Hours are set for Monday, September 21 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday, September 22 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, and Wednesday, September 23 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The monthly closure dates are September 1, 7-8, 14-15, 24, and 28-29.

September beer releases

On the beer side, the brewery says its recurring West Coast IPA, “Markee? She is Home. #4,” will be released soon. After the anniversary period, it also plans to release “Tō Ichi Ban (Hoppy Red Lager),” described as a copper-red lager inspired by the red of Makishi’s flag-bearer “Tō Ichi Ban,” with a dry and hoppy finish.

With an anniversary week, holiday opening hours, and new beer releases all landing in the same month, Heavy Sasori Brewing’s September schedule is itself part of the story.
