A second take on the brewery's original point of reference

HEAVY SASORI BREWING in Naha, Okinawa is now pouring Root Note #2 in its taproom. The brewery describes the Root Note series as its origin point, and this release is the second beer in the line. It is listed as brew #025 with an ABV of 6.0%.

The recipe uses Maris Otter and Crystal 150, with Fuggles and Magnum hops and S-04 yeast. The beer leans on the toasty, biscuit-like malt character of Maris Otter, then layers in a calm, earthy hop profile that fits the British tradition. Compared with the first version, the caramel malt has been dialed back slightly to sharpen the outline of the malt depth. The result is aimed at something balanced, easy to keep drinking, and suited to everyday use.

Root Note #2 is built as an Extra Special Bitter, a classic British style that emphasizes malt structure and restrained bitterness rather than bold hop intensity. In the brewery's own framing, it is meant to be a beer that people can return to again and again, something that sits comfortably alongside IPA or sour releases rather than competing with them.

The post also says keg sales for restaurants have started. Orders are being handled through the BBJ platform, direct message, or the link in the profile. Alongside taproom service, the new wholesale option gives a Naha-based brewery another route for presenting a traditional ESB in a more everyday setting.
