Nori's Beer

"Nori's Beer" is the Kyonan region's first craft beer specialty brewery, located in Ichikawamisato Town. It was founded in 2023, so it's a fairly new place.

It all started when representative Sano was shocked in 2015 by the vast hop fields he saw in California. While talking about his dream of making beer, a friend said, "Why not call it Nori's Beer?" and that became the name.

Sano originally ran a construction business in his hometown. He started building the brewery in 2022, obtained his brewing license in June 2023, and began brewing in August. He used his professional construction skills to bring his own brewery to life.

The beer's concept is "craft beer that lets you feel Yamanashi." They use local water from Ichikawamisato Town for brewing, and the lineup shines by making use of Yamanashi specialties. "Nanbu CHA Ale" is a green tea ale made with Nanbu tea, with ABV 5.0%, and its balance of tea and hops is superb. "Grape MIX" is a fruit beer that makes the most of the acidity and aroma of grapes, very much in the spirit of Yamanashi.

The regular "Citra IPA" is a West Coast IPA style at ABV 6.0%, and it's been hugely popular since returning after an 8-month hiatus. "Amber Ale" has caramel and toast flavors with a floral aroma at 5.1%. There's even a quirky "Tomato Ale" made with local tomatoes.

That's right. They actively set up at Tokyo festivals, and they've also appeared at events at Michi-no-Eki Fujikawa. They're available as a return gift for hometown tax donations too, so trying them that way is a good option. Beer made by a construction contractor that lets you feel Yamanashi really is full of local pride.
