Mya Brew, a brewery in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, has tapped a refreshed version of “Eight Star Apple,” brewed to mark the 8th anniversary of its sister bar, Beer Bar Marble. The release reflects the close connection between the brewery and the bar, turning that relationship into a commemorative beer.

The beer is a Graf-style brew that combines beer and apple juice, finished with star anise. In the post, Mya Brew also said it used leaf-on apples from Nagano’s Tenryukyo area. Growing apples with leaves left on the tree is said to help preserve sweetness and aroma, giving the fruit a fuller character. The stated specs are below.

- Style: Graf w/ star anise
- Alcohol: 4.0%
- IBU: 3

According to the brewery’s description, the beer layers bright apple freshness with a subtle spice character, and the star anise lingers gently on the finish as you keep drinking. As a brewery rooted in Nagoya, Mya Brew has leaned on its sister-bar connection to create beer with a clear sense of context. This “Eight Star Apple” release fits that approach well, offering a beer that is tied not only to flavor, but also to place and relationship.
