Mya Brew, a craft brewery in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, will hold a collaboration event with gibier shop Hinata Shoten on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The event is titled "Let's Eat Seasonal Aichi Honshu Deer", and it is designed around beer and food pairing.

Event Details

- Venue: Mya Brew (Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, Aichi)
- Collaboration: Hinata Shoten (@hinatashoten618)
- Special beer: a berry-driven Fruited Sour Ale

According to the brewery's announcement, the beer was brewed after discussing which styles would work best with Honshu deer. The result is a sour ale with berry notes, aimed at matching the flavors of summer gibier. For beer drinkers, the draw is not just the beer itself, but the way it is meant to sit alongside the dishes.

Food Lineup

The menu features a range of Honshu deer dishes, including hunter-style shabu-shabu, goulash, low-temperature roast tataki, sausage, roasted cuts, and fleischkäse. One reservation-only shabu-shabu set is limited to two groups and requires booking for parties of four or more. The lineup also brings in German-style cooking, giving the evening a clear food-focused identity.

Mya Brew says the special Fruited Sour Ale will pair well not only with the collaboration menu, but with its other beers as well. Guests are also welcome to stop by for just one drink and one dish, making it an approachable event rather than a formal tasting.

For a brewery based in Nagoya, this is a good example of how Mya Brew puts food pairing at the center of its beer culture.
