Brasserie Knot Supports the Introduction of New Brewing Equipment at Kunimare Shuzo in Mashike Town
Brasserie Knot of Tsurui Village, Hokkaido, reported on Instagram on May 5 that it had helped with the newly introduced beer-brewing equipment at Kunimare Shuzo in Mashike Town. A beer hall renovated from a stone storehouse has also opened, adding a new craft beer hub in northern Hokkaido.
In an Instagram post on May 5, Brasserie Knot said it had helped launch the newly installed beer-brewing equipment at Kunimare Shuzo in Mashike Town. The post said, "Another brewery friend has joined us in Hokkaido," introducing new brewing activity taking place within the prefecture.
At Kunimare Shuzo, the brewery-restaurant "Sengokugura Beer Hall," renovated from a stone storehouse over 100 years old, is already open. Visitors can enjoy freshly brewed beer on the spot, and the venue also displays boats and tools used in herring fishing, creating a space where guests can experience the history of Mashike Town alongside food and drink.
Brasserie Knot is a brewery based in Tsurui Village, Hokkaido, and its official website describes it as "a brewery that nurtures people and lives in harmony with nature." The brewery has a history of continuing to brew in a former elementary school in Tsurui, next to the Kushiro Wetlands, and its support for Kunimare Shuzo can also be seen as an effort that makes use of that on-site experience.
The post also noted that Mashike Town is in the peak of its tourist season and encouraged people to visit during Golden Week. This development, combining a historic building with new brewing equipment, is drawing attention as news that gradually expands the craft beer map of northern Hokkaido.
