Mya Brew taps Japan-Korea collab "Free Bird" - citrus-scented Hazy IPA
The brewery Mya Brew in Nagoya, Aichi, announced a new tap on Instagram on March 11, 2026. The collaboration beer "Free Bird" from Nomcraft in Wakayama and whitecrow in Korea has arrived. It is a juicy yet refreshing beer made with citrus from Aridagawa.
Aichi-based Mya Brew announced the tap of a collaboration beer in a post at 17:22 on March 11. This time, the connection was with Nomcraft in Wakayama Prefecture and whitecrow in Korea. Newly tapped was "Free Bird," introduced in the post as a cross-cultural beer.
The beer style is Hazy IPA w/citrus. Specs are ABV 6.5% / IBU 30. Its defining feature is a flavor design that uses plenty of citrus from Aridagawa. It combines mandarin zest and "super juice" to bring out bright citrus aroma and juiciness, while finishing with a crisp drinking impression.
In the announcement that same day, Mya Brew also released a draft list that included guest beers in addition to its own brewing lineup. Its own labels included "nyight (Schwarzbier)," "Beckoning Cats (WCDIPA)," "Seichi Mizuho (Wheat Ale)," "Fiore dʼoro (Botanical IPA)," and "Papipe Leon (Oat Cream IPA)," showing the breadth of the lineup. In addition to "Free Bird," "GOse WOMEN" was also listed as a new tap.
Mya Brew is a brewery and beer bar based in its shop in Kanda-cho, Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, and is open on weekday evenings and from daytime on weekends. From this post as well, you can see that it is simultaneously building everyday service for local drinkers and connections with breweries in Japan and abroad. At a time when the cold still lingers, a Hazy IPA centered on citrus looks likely to draw attention as the perfect "next beer" for the seasonal transition.
