LayDay Beer in Ishikawa, Uruma City has a great origin story. It was started by three local classmates.

And those three had already spent more than 15 years running a bar called "Gajarum." So this was a move by seasoned food and beverage professionals into brewing beer.

More than 15 years running a bar... so they must really understand customers' tastes and have a huge range of flavor ideas.

Exactly, that's their strength. What's more, the brewery is a handmade renovation of an old traditional house, so you can enjoy freshly brewed beer in a space filled with the warmth of wood.

Their flagship, ISHIKAWA ALE, is a session pale ale named after the local area, and it has won awards at the JGBA. AKAMICHI LAGER takes its name from "Akamichi," a place name in Uruma City. They express their love for the local area through the beer names.

Their Chai Ale also won gold at the JGBA. On the ingredients side, they brew a hazy beer with Yume Kaori wheat from Itoman, and every year they also release a seasonal Tankan Ale made with Okinawan tankan oranges.

Tankan Ale! I'm curious about the combination of Okinawan tankan and beer... I definitely want to go drink craft beer in that old house.
