LayDay Beer to release 2nd-anniversary limited IPA on July 25
LayDay Beer in Uruma, Okinawa has announced a limited anniversary IPA based on its Ishikawa Ale. The beer uses 2.5 times more hops and Okinawan shikuwasa juice, with sales starting on July 25 and bottles available in limited quantities.
A limited brew for the brewery's second anniversary
LayDay Beer, a craft brewery in Ishikawa, Uruma City, Okinawa, has shared details of a special beer brewed for its second anniversary. The beer is based on the brewery's Ishikawa Ale, but the hop bill has been increased to 2.5 times the usual amount. Okinawan shikuwasa juice has also been added to the recipe.
According to the brewery, the goal was to create an IPA that feels crisp and refreshing while still offering enough depth to satisfy drinkers in early summer. The post suggests a beer built around hop-driven aroma and bitterness, with the citrusy brightness of shikuwasa adding lift and a local Okinawan character.
Sales are scheduled to begin on July 25. LayDay Beer also says the bottles will be limited in quantity, and that it will not accept reservations or hold requests. The brewery's second-anniversary event will run for two days, on July 25 and July 26, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
LayDay Beer opened in 2024 after renovating a traditional house in Ishikawa with support from the local community. The brewery says it draws on more than 15 years of experience from BAR Gajarum, its original bar, and continues to focus on small-batch brewing in a relaxed setting. The brewery sits about five minutes by car from the Ishikawa interchange and operates as a traditional-house microbrewery and beer stand.
This anniversary IPA fits neatly into that approach: a familiar base beer, a bigger hop profile, and Okinawan ingredients layered in for a release that feels local rather than flashy. For drinkers following Okinawa's craft beer scene, it looks like a timely seasonal release with a clear connection to the brewery's roots.
