Coffee and craft beer at Katsuren Castle Ruins
Layday Beer will participate in URUMA SLOW COFFEE MARKET 2026 on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The event will take place from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Fourth Enclosure of Katsuren Castle Ruins, a World Heritage site in Uruma City.
Organized around Uruma’s coffee culture, the market brings together local roasters and coffee producers. Its concept emphasizes reusable tumblers instead of disposable cups, creating a slower and more environmentally conscious way to enjoy the day.
For the event, Layday Beer plans to serve Coffee Stout made with beans roasted by Tetto Coffee. The beer will be available as bottled take-away beer and on draft. The combination is a natural fit for visitors who enjoy both coffee and dark beer, with roasted coffee character meeting the body and depth of a stout.
A taco-style hot sandwich is also planned for the food menu, giving guests an option to pair with either coffee or beer while spending time with family and friends.
A historic-house brewery in Uruma
Layday Beer is a craft beer brand based in Ishikawa, Uruma City. Established in 2024, the brewery grew from the experience of Gajarum, a bar with more than 15 years of history. It brews in small batches, drawing inspiration from Okinawa’s natural surroundings, seasonal changes, the sea, and surf culture.
The brewery aims to make “fun beer” that can be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors. At URUMA SLOW COFFEE MARKET 2026, that local approach will meet Uruma’s growing coffee community. Against the historic setting of Katsuren Castle Ruins, the event offers an opportunity to discover new local favorites across coffee, beer, and food.
