I love the origin of the name Trans Brewing, founded in Hiragishi, Sapporo in 2021. TRANS means both "to cut through" and "to transform," and it carries the idea of sincerely pushing through beer making while changing the everyday life of the people who drink it.

Cool name! What kind of beer do they make?
Hop Bro
The flagship is "Hiragishi Lager." It's a classic lager named after the neighborhood, and you can really see their intent to take root in the local community. From there, they also make a wide range of beers, including a W-IPA called Eliminator and a Smoke beer made with smoked wheat malt.
Mugi
From lager to double IPA? That's bold!
Hop Bro
Even more interesting is their series that uses Hokkaido ingredients. They make an IPA called POMODORO DI BIBAI using fully ripe tomato juice from Bibai, and a pumpkin beer called PUMPKIN DANCE using Hokkaido-grown pumpkin.
Mugi
A tomato IPA? What would that even taste like?
Hop Bro
The tomato's acidity and the IPA hop bitterness clash, but somehow they come together beautifully. They also make a fruit ale called Tropical Fruit, and a collaboration beer with craft cola called Laka Laka Cola.
Mugi
A collaboration between craft cola and beer? I want to try that!
Hop Bro
They have a directly operated beer stand right near Nijo Market, with up to six taps serving everything from core beers to new releases. The standing-bar style makes it easy to drop in casually too.

Wrapping up seafood at Nijo Market with a craft beer sounds perfect. I want to start with Hiragishi Lager!
