Overview of the new release, "Native Dancer"

Amakusa Sonar Beer unveiled its new beer, "Native Dancer," in an Instagram post. The specs shown in the post were Style: Hazy IPA / ABV: 6.5%. The hop bill consists of Incognito Mosaic, Incognito Eldorado, CRYO Phantasm, CRYO Citra, Motueka, and Saaz, and the beer is characterized by a dense aromatic design.

The description says that the dense hop extract of Mosaic and El Dorado is layered with white-grape-like nuances from Phantasm, citrus aromas from Citra and Motueka, and added depth from Saaz. The beer is said to have a silky mouthfeel without becoming cloying, with a clean finish. It is introduced as a beer designed to feel less than 6.5% ABV.

Brewery background

Based in Amakusa, Kumamoto, the brewery promotes what it calls "Japan's westernmost hop field" on its official website. It uses hops grown locally, selecting from 15 varieties, and also works on pesticide-free cultivation, consistently reflecting the character of the land in its ingredient design. The taproom attached to the brewery offers a fresh beer experience unique to an on-site brewery, and this new hop-driven release fits naturally into that context.

Including the fact that new release information is primarily shared on Instagram, keeping a regular eye on the brewery's social channels is an effective way to follow its latest releases. "Native Dancer," where Amakusa's ingredient-driven approach meets modern hop expression, is a label worth watching as it reflects the brewery's current direction.
