Amakusa Sonar Beer, based in Amakusa City, Kumamoto, has announced a new beer titled CROSSING SOMEDAY. It is a DDH Hazy IPA with an ABV of 7.0%.

The hop bill includes Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, Citra Cryo, Motueka Cryo, Dolcita Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, and Superdelic. According to the brewery’s announcement, four hop varieties, including Mosaic Cryo, are added generously and steeped slowly at low temperature to extract the hops’ pure essence.

The beer is described as having an intense fruit-forward aroma reminiscent of peach, strawberry, and other red fruits. Its hazy appearance is paired with a silky texture designed to deliver the core of the fruit character directly to the palate. Despite the beer’s substantial aroma and flavor, the brewery highlights a soft, smooth mouthfeel without a harsh edge or heavy impression.

The finish is intended to remain pleasant and quietly persistent after the initial fruit character fades. The result is positioned as a highly aromatic yet drinkable Hazy IPA—full enough to be expressive, while light enough to invite another sip.

Amakusa Sonar Beer grows hops directly in front of its brewery, home to what it describes as Japan’s westernmost hop field. The brewery cultivates 15 hop varieties without pesticides and combines them with mineral-rich groundwater and local ingredients. Its taproom, attached to the brewery, also offers fresh beer served directly at the source.

With its emphasis on vivid hop aroma, soft texture, and drinkability, CROSSING SOMEDAY will appeal to fans of modern Hazy IPAs. Further details on availability and serving locations are expected through the brewery’s official social media channels.
