Nagano Minamikaze Beer starts serving hazelnut-themed 'Hazelnut Beer'
Nagano Minamikaze Beer in Nagano City said in an August 6 Instagram post that it has started serving a new barrel of 'Hazelnut Beer,' brewed at the request of the Nagano City Agriculture Corporation, along with a milk stout based on its popular 'YaYa (Rokuya).' Both are available on draft and in cans, with limited quantities.
Nagano Minamikaze Beer is a brewpub located about an eight-minute walk from Nagano Station. The business moved to its current location in December 2021 and obtained its brewing license in April 2022. On its official website, the brewery says it aims to make beers rooted in the local area while using Shinshu-grown agricultural ingredients.
In an Instagram post on August 6, the brewery introduced a new barrel release called "Hazelnut Beer." It said the beer was brewed at the request of the Nagano City Agriculture Corporation and is intended to become one of the region's specialty products using hazelnuts, as part of an effort to help Nagano City develop as a hazelnut-producing area. The beer adds another example of the brewery's focus on local ingredients and community links.
The same post also announced a milk stout based on one of the brewery's popular beers, "YaYa (Rokuya)," now available on draft and in cans. The brewery noted that quantities are limited, so interested drinkers may want to check early.
The post also listed upcoming festival appearances, including the National Beer Festival in Ichinoseki from August 21 to 23, the Nasu Beer Festival on September 5 and 6, and Oktoberfest Kamakura on October 3 and 4.
