Inkhorn Brewing, based in Mejiro, Toshima, Tokyo, has announced its new beer, Prothonotary Warbler. Classified as a Hazy Pale Ale, the beer has an ABV of 5.0% and is distinguished by a dense haze that the brewery describes as almost matte in appearance.

The hop character suggests pink grapefruit and pineapple, while the palate brings together a slightly oily, coconut-like texture and a dry, powdery sensation. Although the body and sweetness do not linger, the beer retains enough weight in its mouthfeel to deliver a satisfying hop presence and drinking experience for its relatively moderate strength.

The malt bill includes Extra Pils, oats, and wheat. Its hop lineup features Citra, Simcoe Cryo, Krush LUPOMAX, Citra LUPOMAX, Idaho 7, and Mega Motueka. Lactose is also used, while fermentation relies on Inkhorn’s house yeast.

Inkhorn Brewing operates in Mejiro, Toshima, Tokyo. Its brewery is located at 2-2-2 Mejiro and welcomes visitors from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from noon to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

With its 5.0% ABV, Prothonotary Warbler is positioned for occasions when drinkers want a lower-alcohol beer without giving up hop flavor. Its dense haze, citrus and tropical fruit aromas, layered mouthfeel, and restrained lingering sweetness make it a distinctive addition to Inkhorn Brewing’s lineup.
