Hazy IPA Released in Cans

Manriharu Brewery in Tondabayashi, Osaka, announced that it has begun selling a canned version of its popular Hazy IPA at its store and on its e-commerce site. In the post, the brewery notes that making it available in cans makes it easier to enjoy the same beer at home.

Specs and Flavor

This Hazy IPA comes in at 6% ABV and 13 IBU. The description highlights a smooth mouthfeel, moderate bitterness, and a burst of hop aroma, promoting it as an easy-drinking beer that is neither too heavy nor too sweet. The hazy appearance typical of a Hazy IPA and a design focused on juiciness are both evident.

Beer Born from a Local Brewery

Manriharu Brewery is a brewery reborn through the renovation of a closed sake brewery, carrying on the history of the former sake maker “Manriharu Shuzo,” which had been known since the early Meiji era in the Minamikawachi area of Osaka. It is located in Tondabayashi Town, Tondabayashi City, Osaka Prefecture. In Jinaimachi, a district designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, the brewery makes craft beer while making use of its historic buildings.

For brewing, it uses well water supplied by underground water fed by Mount Kongo. On its official website, the brewery says it makes beer using the region's water, which was called “golden water” in the Edo period. At the beer hall attached to the brewery, visitors can enjoy fresh beer together with food.

This canned Hazy IPA is positioned as a beer that lets drinkers take home the brewery's local character and personality as it is. Because it can be purchased both in-store and online, it has become a release that can reach not only people visiting the area, but also beer fans living farther away.
