Nara Brewing to Hold Special Opening on June 6

Nara Brewing (Nara City) will open its taproom and offer brewery tours on Saturday, June 6, 2026. At the venue, the recently gold medal-winning beers "FUNCTION" and "LIGHTHOUSE" from World Beer Cup 2026 are scheduled to be tapped. To commemorate the award, newly created merch items under the "HAVE FUNCTION!" line will also be sold all at once.

The company is a brewery that makes craft beer based in Nara. On its official website, it emphasizes its stance of staying rooted in the local community while conveying the breadth and appeal of beer, and this event can be seen as an extension of that approach.

Brewery Tours by Reservation

On the day, a tour of the brewery, which is normally off-limits to visitors, will also be held. The guides will be assistant brewers Kaneko and Sakuma. While leading visitors through the brewing area, they will explain beer making and Nara Brewing, and answer questions as well. The tour requires advance reservation and has a limited capacity, so those hoping to participate should apply early.

Food that pairs with the beers sold only for this event will also be available at the venue. Hours are 11:00 to 18:00, with last order at 17:30. The location is 1-8-14 Kitanosho Nishimachi, Nara City. No parking is available, so public transportation is recommended.

Not only will visitors be able to taste award-winning beers on the spot, they will also be able to see behind the scenes at the brewery. This open day looks like a great opportunity to learn where Nara Brewing stands today.
