Nara Brewing, the craft brewery based in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, is highlighting its Taproom Open Day on Saturday, March 14 as one of the month’s featured events. The venue is the brewery itself (1-8-14 Kitanosho Nishimachi, Nara City), and the event will run from 10:00 to 17:00 (last order 16:30). Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.

For this open day, vendors that pair well with beer will take part from both inside and outside the prefecture. The lineup includes knot (hot dogs, doughnuts), FOUR STAR PHO (pho, snacks), Akaha Chai (chai), Kore Kara Flowers (bouquets), and KISSA (snacks). With food, drinks, and even flowers all in one place, it looks set to be an easy place to spend a relaxed day from noon onward.

In addition, a brewery tour led by head brewer Yasunori Namioka will also be held (reservation required, limited capacity). The tour will let guests see the brewing equipment while hearing about beer production and Nara Brewing's approach, making it more than just a tasting event. The venue will also be opening the award-winning beers "SUN" and "INTEGRAL B," which won prizes at Japan Brewers Cup 2026.

Nara Brewing was founded in 2017. The company name, which includes the place name, reflects its intention to "send ideas out from Nara," and it has continued brewing that moves between regional character and a wide variety of beer styles. For a company that has offered everything from staples to experimental beers, the open day is a valuable chance to experience where it stands now. In springtime Nara, it should be a great opportunity to enjoy the depth of local culture centered on beer.
