Mya-Brew, the brewpub in Kamida-cho, Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, introduced its new beer “Kohaku Goh Beer” in an Instagram post dated June 12. The label was designed by @soyamax, and the release reflects the brewery’s focus on in-house beers with a clear malt-driven profile.

The recipe is built around Maris Otter malt. According to the post, the beer opens with aromas reminiscent of freshly baked bread and biscuits, then adds subtle layers of caramel and dried fruit. After five months of maturation, the edges have softened, allowing the malt sweetness to unfold slowly. It is positioned as a strong ale that aims for depth and balance rather than raw intensity.

The beer clocks in at 8.0% ABV and 22 IBU. Mya-Brew also notes that the flavor changes as the beer warms, making it the kind of pint that rewards slow drinking. Rather than finishing the glass quickly, this is a beer to follow from the first sip to the last as the aroma and body evolve.

At the time of the post, it was being poured on tap 4 alongside beers such as GOse WOMEN, Eight Star Apple, and Star Sand from Southern Cross. As a neighborhood brewpub in Nagoya, Mya-Brew is known for serving a rotating lineup of house beers and guest taps. Kohaku Goh Beer fits that approach well: a malt-forward release designed to be appreciated with attention, not haste.
