Banriharu Brewery (Osaka) shared its latest updates on canned products via Instagram. According to the post, after dealing with equipment issues, staffing shortages, and difficulties in fine-tuning the machinery, the brewery now sees a path forward for can sales.

Advance Sale Details

Ahead of the full release, it will begin advance sales of prototype cans with simple labels from Thursday, March 19, exclusively at the Banri no Haru Beer Hall.

The initial lineup consists of the following four styles:

- Pale ale
- Weizen
- Stout
- Saison

The post also revealed plans toward a full release with student-designed labels. As part of an industry-academia collaboration project with Osaka University of Arts, the brewery plans to adopt labels created by design students and to release five standard styles with those labels soon. The start dates for the online shop and wholesale sales will be announced later.

Brewery Background

Banriharu Brewery is a brewery based in Tondabayashi, Osaka. According to official information, it revived as a beer brewery and beer hall by renovating a former sake brewery, inheriting the legacy of the Meiji-era sake maker "Banriharu," which was once well known in Minamikawachi. This can rollout can be seen as a step toward making the brewery's beers, which had primarily been enjoyed on-site, easier to take home.

The same post also listed the following draft beers available for wholesale: IPA, saison, live weizen, weizen, stout, amber ale, carrot weizen, Chiran Aracha Golden Ale, and sake ale. Along with the advance can sales, the expansion of distribution channels is also worth watching.
