Nara Brewing Releases German Pilsner "DAYLONG" in Kegs and 350ml Cans
Nara-based craft brewery Nara Brewing has announced the release of its new beer, "DAYLONG." The style is German Pilsner, with ABV 5.0% and IBU 17. It will be available in kegs and 350ml cans, with sales starting at 12:00 on March 16 for business customers via e-commerce and at 12:00 on March 27 for general customers via e-commerce.
In Nara Brewing's Instagram post, the details of the new beer were revealed.
This new "DAYLONG" is a German Pilsner aimed at the warming season ahead. The alcohol content is kept at 5.0%, and as the name suggests, the brewery says it was designed to be an easy beer to enjoy throughout the day. The post also touches on the background of pilsner, the representative lager style, and introduces the characteristics of German-style pilsner, which developed from the Czech tradition.
For the recipe, all of the malt, hops, and yeast are sourced from Germany. The hops used are Hallertau Hersbrucker and Merkur, aiming for a floral, delicate aroma, a meadow-like fragrance, spicy and herbal notes, and a well-balanced bitterness. The flavor is described as a blend of hop aroma with malt sweetness and a gentle toastiness, followed by a crisp drinking experience and a pleasant bittersweet finish.
It will be sold in kegs and 350ml cans. Sales begin at 12:00 on Monday, March 16 for business customers via e-commerce, and at 12:00 on Friday, March 27 for general customers via e-commerce. As spring approaches, this is a beer worth watching as a reinterpretation of the classic lager that pairs easily with food or stands on its own.
