Faló Brewing in Yamamoto, Miyagi Prefecture will begin rolling out its new beer HBD, made with locally grown strawberries, starting March 4, 2026. It will be sold at beer bars across Japan and at roadside stations in the town, drawing attention as a beer that makes use of local ingredients.
Faló Brewing in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture will begin selling its new beer HBD in stages from March 4, 2026. Planned sales channels include beer bars nationwide, craft beer specialty shops, and roadside stations in Yamamoto Town.
The brewery became fully operational after completing its brewery in August 2025 and obtaining a brewing license in October of the same year. Its base is a facility renovated from the former Sakamoto Junior High School, which closed in 2021, linking memories left in the community to a new place for exchange.
HBD was crafted around Faló Brewing's long-held approach of "bringing out the ingredient's natural flavor," with the goal of letting people enjoy the bright aroma and taste of strawberries from Yamamoto Town. The fruit used comes from Sansan-en, a strawberry farm in the town. By turning local produce into beer, the brewery aims to deliver the appeal of Yamamoto Town just as it is.
The brewery name "Faló" means "bonfire" in Italian. It reflects the desire to be a presence that connects the region and its people through beer, much like people gathering around a fire to talk. The company also began selling canned beer in January 2026, expanding from a lineup centered on draft beer to a format that is easier to pick up. As a new product that makes use of local ingredients, it also seems likely to serve as an entry point to learning about Yamamoto Town.
