Faló Brewing in Yamamoto, Miyagi is reissuing Hanabi, a sansho amber lager at 5% ABV. The limited beer will be available in both cans and draft. The brewery describes it as a beer where the fullness of the malt meets the fresh aroma of grape sansho, making it a natural fit for the shift from late summer toward autumn. The flavor impression also lines up with the brewery’s own shorthand: "Citrus, Sparkle, Bread".

Hanabi began in 2023 as a collaboration between Sailors Grave Brewing in Australia, where the brewer was working at the time, and Tokyo’s CRAFTROCK BREWING. The idea started with the fleeting moment of looking up at fireworks. Bread-like malt character, a touch of roast, and citrus notes from hops and sansho are layered together to evoke fireworks against the night sky. For Faló Brewing, this is the second release after an earlier spring run, and it is meant as a quiet, reflective seasonal lager rather than a beer built for loud impact.
