Yatsugatake Brewery announced on Instagram that it will hold its 29th anniversary festival. Yatsugatake Brewery is a brewery located in Moeginomura, in the Kiyosato Highlands of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Its history began in 1997, when Kazumi Yamada, who had served as head of brewing development at Kirin Brewery, came to Kiyosato. The brewery promotes a "malt-centric" approach to beer making that brings out the richness and umami of malt, using the clear natural water from the southern foothills of Mount Yatsugatake.
The brand name "Touchdown" comes from Dr. Paul Rusch, known as the father of Kiyosato development, who helped introduce American football to Japan. The 29th anniversary festival seems likely to draw attention as a milestone event where the brewery's history and the background of Kiyosato come together.
