Nara Brewing Co. publishes first-shipment shops for TIMMUR amber lager
Nara Brewing Co. has announced the first-shipment shops for TIMMUR, an amber lager brewed with timur, a Nepalese Himalayan pepper. The collaboration with OLD NEPAL TOKYO will also be sold through the brewery’s online store starting at noon on June 26.
Nara Brewing Co. has released the first-shipment shop list for "TIMMUR," an amber lager brewed with timur, a Himalayan pepper used in Nepal. The beer is a third collaboration with OLD NEPAL TOKYO, and it is being offered in both 350 ml cans and draft.
"TIMMUR" is listed at 5.0% ABV and 29 IBU. The recipe combines Sorachi Ace and Merkur hops with Pilsner Malt, Vienna Malt, Munich Malt Type1, Carared, Caramunich Type3, and Melanoidin Malt. On the brewery’s product page, it is described as a medium amber beer with a citrus-like aroma from timur, solid malt depth, pronounced hop bitterness, and a gentle lingering tingle.
According to the brewery, OLD NEPAL TOKYO closed in February 2026 as the team prepared to relocate its base to Nepal, but owner-chef Honda visited Nara to take part in the brew. That cross-regional connection is part of what gives the beer its character.
Initial distribution is centered on liquor shops and specialty stores across Japan, from Hokkaido to Shimane, including outlets in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. Nara Brewing’s online store will begin sales at noon on June 26. The brewery describes TIMMUR as a food-friendly beer, making it a natural choice for pairing with a meal.
