Shiga Kogen Beer Releases Web-Exclusive New Year 12-Bottle Set in Collaboration with Hair of the Dog
Tamamura Honten in Nagano (Shiga Kogen Beer) has released the "2026 New Year Set THE FAR EAST & Hair of the Dog Collaboration 12-Bottle Set." To commemorate the release of ALAN, this limited run of 35 sets combines back vintages of THE FAR EAST with Hair of the Dog collaboration beers, and goes on web-only sale from 10:00 a.m. on January 2, 2026.
Tamamura Honten announced the "2026 New Year Set THE FAR EAST & Hair of the Dog Collaboration 12-Bottle Set (Product No. 358)" on its official online store. The price is 20,260 yen (tax included, shipping extra), sales are first come, first served, limited to one set per person, and web orders only.
This project commemorates the release of the new Hair of the Dog x SHIGA KOGEN beer ALAN (a 20th Anniversary Special Blend of Cherry Adam x THE FAR EAST). The set contains 12 bottles in total, including THE FAR EAST Barrel Aged Imperial IPA #4/#5/#6/#9, THE FAR EAST Ume, ALAN, plus past Hair of the Dog collaborations such as ADAMU, Monkey Claws, and the ECKHARDT series.
On the product page, these are described as a "rare long-term-aged stock," with #5, #7, and #11 singled out as particularly scarce. If you simply add up the alcohol percentages of the 12 bottles, the total comes to 155.5%, with an average of 13.0% per bottle, making the contents very "heavy" in more ways than one.
Tamamura Honten, which produces Shiga Kogen Beer, describes itself on its official website as a brewery that makes the sake "Enki" and Shiga Kogen Beer. This New Year project seems to pack in the kind of aging, blending, and cross-border collaboration that suits a company with both sake and beer in its portfolio.
As of the time of confirmation, the product data showed zero inventory, and because it was a limited release, the pace was fast. We want to keep following the official store announcements for any restocks or similar projects.
