A traditional Bohemian Pilsner

On June 25, 2026, Inkhorn Brewing announced Koflamingo 2026. The beer is a Bohemian Pilsner with an ABV of 4.3%, created by the Mejiro, Tokyo-based brewery for an anniversary setting.

Koflamingo 2026 is one of the beers being poured for Watering Hole's 14th anniversary, with service planned from June 26 through June 29. Inkhorn says it had already been served in advance during the brewery's own 5th anniversary period in Mejiro, and that the beer has become more balanced after about a week on tap.

The flavor profile is described as crisp and herbal, with floral notes that recall lemon blossoms and a subtle citrus edge. Malt aroma and a measured bitterness are layered in as well, giving the beer more structure than its modest alcohol level might suggest.

Brew details

- Malt: Floor-malted Bohemian Pilsner
- Hops: Saaz
- Yeast: Wyeast 2124

The grist uses Czech malt and Saaz hops, fermented with lager yeast. Inkhorn also applied a traditional approach that includes step mashing and a single decoction, which helps push the malt character further.

That extra work shows in the body: the beer is meant to feel fuller and less watery than a standard pilsner while still staying refreshing and easy to drink. It should work as a first pour, a mid-session reset, or a final beer of the night.

Based in Mejiro, Toshima-ku, Inkhorn Brewing has built a reputation for precise recipes and careful execution. Koflamingo 2026 fits that approach well, offering a classic Czech-leaning pilsner profile for an anniversary toast.
