Tokyo-based Inkhorn Brewing, located in Mejiro, Toshima-ku, introduced a new batch of its American IPA, Java Finch 2026 #3, in an Instagram post. The beer is listed at 7.0% ABV and is built around a hop-forward profile.

According to the brewery’s description, the aroma and flavor lean toward pink grapefruit, mango, and lychee, with a slightly darker green character reminiscent of blackberry leaves. A moderate bitterness sits on top, giving the beer a classic IPA frame without pushing into overly resinous territory.

Inkhorn Brewing says this batch was developed with the previous Java Finch 2026 batch 2 in mind. Rather than changing the recipe drastically, the brewery aimed to reduce the resin-like bitterness that became noticeable over a pint and to strengthen the grapefruit direction.

The hop bill and usage are largely unchanged, but the brewery made small adjustments by using an older Galaxy lot and swapping the Citra lot to bring out more lychee character. Malt and yeast handling remain the same, so the batch is intended to highlight subtle differences rather than a full redesign.
