Faló Brewing in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture, will hold a brewery open day on Saturday, May 23, from 11:00 to 15:00. As a special feature unique to a brewery created from the renovated former Sakamoto Junior High School, the school rooftop will be specially opened. Visitors can enjoy beer while feeling the breeze and taking in the views of Yamamoto Town.
At the venue, in addition to Faló Brewing’s draft beer and canned beer, original items such as glasses and T-shirts will also be available. Food will be provided by Petite Joie, a fellow business tenant in the same building, making it possible to enjoy beer and food together.
Faló Brewing is a brewery born from the renovation of the former Sakamoto Junior High School in Yamamoto Town. Its major feature is how it makes use of a place that still carries the community’s memories of school as a new place for exchange. This open day, too, can be seen as an event that takes advantage of that unique setting.
When attending the event, please note that the indoor space in the building is limited, smoking is prohibited throughout the premises, and parking is limited. If it rains, the rooftop will not be open, so it is reassuring to check the weather in advance as well.
Access is a 5-minute walk from Sakamoto Station on the JR Joban Line. It looks like it will be a day to fully savor both the beer and the character of the place at a brewery rooted in the local community.
