Yatsugatake Brewery has brought back Premium Rock Bock as a seasonal beer. It was announced on Instagram as the return of Rock Bock, signaling the long-awaited comeback fans have been waiting for.

Yatsugatake Brewery is based in Kiyosato Plateau in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, at an elevation of 1,230 meters. Since its founding in 1997, it has continued making malt-centric beers that bring out the richness and umami of malt, and it also uses decoction brewing, a traditional method that originated in Germany.

Premium Rock Bock is designed with 40% more malt and 50% more hops than a pilsner, then fermented and aged for about nine weeks. With its reddish-copper color, firm alcohol character, and layered hop bitterness, it is a powerful beer. As the German word 'Bock' suggests, its flavor is full-bodied, and in 2020 it won the World's Best award at the World Beer Awards.

The brewery had previously announced that, with the September 2025 lineup revision, this beer would be changed from a regular offering to a seasonal limited release. Seen in that context, this comeback is easy to understand as a return within that broader shift. It is news that once again conveys the brewery's identity, centered on the pure water of Yatsugatake and the depth of malt.
