Nara Brewing Announces First Shipment of Low-ABV 3.0% Micro Porter “LIGHTHOUSE”
On February 28, 2026, Nara Brewing announced the first retailers carrying its micro porter “LIGHTHOUSE.” Designed to deliver real drinking satisfaction despite its low 3.0% ABV, the 350 ml can is a nitro (nitrogen-charged) release. Online store sales are scheduled to begin on March 6, 2026.
Nara Brewing, the craft brewery based in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, has published its notice of the first shipment retailers for “LIGHTHOUSE”. In this announcement, the brewery listed the initial destinations as of February 28, focusing mainly on liquor retailers. From Tokyo’s Chiyoda, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Machida areas to Kanagawa, Aichi, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Tokushima, the rollout is getting underway across a wide region.
“LIGHTHOUSE” is classified as a “MICRO PORTER,” with an ABV of 3.0% and an IBU of 18. Even in the low-alcohol range, its defining feature is a recipe that layers multiple roasted malts to build depth of flavor and aroma. On the official beer details page, the brewery describes aromas reminiscent of cacao and coffee, the soft mouthfeel derived from oat malt, and nutty nuances that emerge as the temperature changes (product page).
In addition, the 350 ml can uses a nitro-can format. According to Nara Brewing, this method uses nitrogen gas instead of carbon dioxide to aim for fine bubbles and a creamy texture, and the brewery recommends gently shaking it before pouring (NITRO BEER CANS).
Nara Brewing was founded in 2017. Carrying the name “Nara,” it has consistently emphasized sharing distinctive beers from the region. LIGHTHOUSE seems to be a beer that, within that context, tackles the question of how to create a satisfying style experience even at low ABV. It is a release that should catch the eye of drinkers who want to enjoy darker beers in a lighter way, or those who want something to sip slowly with food.
