Nara Brewing announces its planned event appearances from late March through the end of May
Nara Brewing announced on Instagram that it will appear at a Tokyo popup on March 27 and 28, a Shizuoka beer festival on April 11 and 12, and a Nara festival from May 29 to 31. The lineup connects beer with books and local events.
The Nara City brewery Nara Brewing has announced a roundup of event information for the early spring season. Since its first release in the summer of 2018, the company has championed "The joy of choosing beer.", and true to that spirit, this announcement goes beyond a simple event notice to highlight the culture surrounding beer and the spaces it helps create.
Three events from March through May
In an Instagram post, the company first introduced "YEASTrip ~Travel and Books~", to be held at the gallery "YEAST" in Jingumae, Tokyo, on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. The travel-themed popup is set to feature exhibitions and sales of books and zines, talk shows, and more, and Nara Brewing says it will display zines alongside beer. The venue is also a place that has carried the company's beers before.
Next, on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, the brewery will take part in the "Mochimune Minato Beer Festival" in Shizuoka. The post says six companies, including West Coast Brewing, will gather there, and visitors can also enjoy a tuna disassembly show, grilled seafood, fireworks, and more. The food-and-beer pairing suited to a port town should make this a spring event that brightens up Mochimune.
Furthermore, the company announced its participation in "KIGEN Japanese Sake Fest", to be held from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31 at the Nara Prefectural Convention Center. In addition to breweries from inside and outside the prefecture, more than 60 groups including craft sake producers, breweries, and wineries will gather, and pairing lunch shows and talk shows are also planned.
Nara Brewing is a brewery that has delivered fresh pours through its taproom and its canned and bottled beers. With this announcement as well, its activities extend beyond simply offering products and into bookstores, galleries, port-town festivals, and local food-and-drink fests. As the spring event season approaches, the company's movements are likely to keep drawing attention.
