Nara Brewing to Open Taproom and Hold Brewery Tours on June 6
On June 6, Nara Brewing will open its brewery taproom and also offer reservation-based brewery tours. In addition to pouring "FUNCTION" and "LIGHTHOUSE," which won gold medals at the World Beer Cup 2026, the brewery also plans to sell commemorative merch celebrating the award.
Nara Brewing (Nara City) will open its taproom on Saturday, June 6, 2026 and will also hold brewery tours. At the venue, "FUNCTION" and "LIGHTHOUSE," which won gold medals at the World Beer Cup 2026, are scheduled to be tapped. To commemorate the award, items from a new merch line, "HAVE FUNCTION!," created for the occasion, will also be on sale.
The brewery tours will be guided by assistant brewers Mr. Kaneko and Mr. Sakuma, and will take participants through production areas that are usually off-limits while introducing Nara Brewing's approach to brewing and its initiatives. Because the tours require advance reservation and have limited capacity, anyone wishing to participate should apply early.
Since beginning brewing in 2018, Nara Brewing has been based in Nara and has offered a wide variety of beer styles. With a philosophy of "making beer selection fun," the company has produced everything from core beers to experimental labels, so this open day should be a chance to experience its world firsthand at the brewery.
