The festival returns to Ishinomaki

ForestBrewing will join the 2nd Miyagi Craft Beer Fest in Ishinomaki, held from Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19 at Kawamachi Open Park (Ishinomaki Kawamachi Exchange Plaza). Admission is free. According to the event information, the venue will feature craft beer from across Miyagi, along with Ishinomaki sake, wine, and local dishes that pair well with beer.

A brewery rooted in firewood and spring water

ForestBrewing is a brewery in Kawasaki, Miyagi. Its official site says the company started brewing in May 2023 and describes the project as a "wood-fired craft beer" operation. The brewery sits upstream from Kamafusa Dam, where meltwater from the Zao mountain range feeds the area, and its beer is brewed using firewood produced by the company itself. That background gives the brewery a distinct identity: beer made with local water, local wood, and a strong sense of place.

In the Instagram post, ForestBrewing says this will be its second time participating in the festival. For beer fans, the event offers a chance to taste Miyagi's brewery scene in one place while also sampling the food and drinks of Ishinomaki. It is the kind of setting where a brewery from Kawasaki can show how its landscape and brewing philosophy translate into the glass.
