A daytime event where you can enjoy the charms of Yamagata in Tokyo will be held in Sangenjaya.

The Instagram post announces that a daytime drinking event themed around Asahimachi's food culture will be held from 1:30 p.m. on March 15 at Waonjin Gassan in Sangenjaya, Setagaya Ward. According to the information in the post, the venue is Waonjin Gassan, the participation fee is 3,500 yen, and the capacity is 20 people.

The food will include dishes made with Asahimachi specialties such as apples and ostrich meat, as well as yakitori and imoni. Drinks will center on Asahimachi wine and craft beer, and an apple juice tasting and homemade bread are also planned.

What craft beer fans will want to note is that Yonezawa Jacks Brewery representative Shuto Makiyama is scheduled to attend as a guest on the day. According to its official website, Yonezawa Jacks Brewery is a microbrewery that started in the southern part of Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, in spring 2018. In addition to its four core beers, it has continued to produce limited brews and collaboration beers using local ingredients.

This event, bringing together Asahimachi wine, local ingredients, and craft beer from Yonezawa, looks like an opportunity to experience Yamagata's food and drink culture in the Tokyo metropolitan area. For reservations and details, check the form and organizer information provided in the post.
