At the beer pub Eni-Bru in Naka-Mozu-cho, Sakai, Osaka, the "Nippon Style Beer Selection" has been running since May 22. Just a two-minute walk from Nakamozu Station, this is a relaxed underground space where you can slowly compare distinctive beers from all over Japan.

This month’s theme is "Nippon Style," which draws on traditional Japanese ingredients and brewing techniques. Eight kegs featuring sake yeast, sake lees, rice koji, soba, and more are on tap, and the geographic spread is also a highlight, with beers from Tokyo, Nara, Shizuoka, Tottori, Tokushima, Wakayama, and Yamagata. Even among beers using Japanese ingredients, the flavor directions vary widely, from those layered with yuzu to those combining Japanese black tea and sansho pepper, or making use of sake rice and yuko citrus.

Beers on Tap

- `LUCKY7` / `CRAFTROCK BREWING`
- `Wakyo ~ Sake Lees Yuzu Ale` / `CYORYO Craft Beer`
- `PARALLEL WORLD` / `Hansharo Beer × Nara Brewing`
- `Marihana Yago` / `Ohyama G Beer`
- `KAMIKATSU MORNING SUMMER` / `RISE&WINE Brewing`
- `Fuji Rouge7` / `fete Mishima Brewery`
- `JAPANEASE WHITE No.9` / `ORYZAE BREWING`

The food selection is built to pair with the beers, with a Japanese-style lineup. The post highlights the "jako shrimp kakiage" and "Japanese carpaccio with horse mackerel and water eggplant," light dishes with aroma and seasoning that stand up to these characterful draft pours. It is the kind of place suited to a day when you want to sample a little from many breweries across the country, and if you want to make sure you get in, a reservation is worth considering.
