Grandline Brewing, based in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, has begun serving nacol Beer, a limited collaboration with the reservation-only restaurant nacol, on July 17. nacol is an Italian restaurant in Asakusa, Tokyo, and this release was designed specifically to pair with its cured ham and seasonal dishes.

Grandline Brewing describes its approach as SUPERMERGE, a concept centered on combining different worlds and ideas. The brewery positions itself as a communication-driven brewery that connects local and global perspectives, and this project fits that direction well. Developed and brewed in collaboration with nacol, the beer was released as a Cold Session IPA with 5.0% ABV.

The beer is brewed with lager yeast for a dry, light finish. According to the brewery, it lifts the sweetness and richness of the ham while leaving a clean hoppy aftertaste. Rather than standing out on its own, the beer is meant to support the flow of the meal and create a smooth pairing experience. At nacol, customers can order the beer as part of the pairing lineup, making it a limited release that highlights beer as a true food companion.
