Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. has announced "Gotanda Erotic Hazy IPA" as a Far Yeast Tokyo-exclusive beer. Serving begins on Saturday, March 21. It will be sold at the company-owned "Far Yeast Tokyo" in Nishi-Gotanda, Tokyo, and there will be no can sales, only 15L keg service.

Beer Characteristics

This new release is a Hazy IPA brewed with muscat grapes. According to the announcement, it features aromas reminiscent of ripe fruit, a silky-smooth mouthfeel despite its hazy appearance, and a drinkability that keeps grassy notes in check.

The specs are as follows.

- Style: Hazy IPA
- Alcohol by volume: 6.0%
- IBU: 10
- Ingredients: Malt, oats, hops, colorant
- Hops: El Dorado / Mosaic / HBC 638 / Citra Cryo
- Category: Happoshu (malt content 50% or more)

From a Yamanashi Brewery to an Urban Taproom

The beer originates from Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery (Kosuge Village, Kitatsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture). The company is a brewery based in Yamanashi that has developed a diverse range of brands, and it has continued to pursue limited-edition brewing that makes use of local character.

The concept of serving a beer brewed at its Yamanashi production base exclusively at its Gotanda directly operated shop is also very much in line with Far Yeast's style of presenting a beer as something that starts local and lands in the city. The attention-grabbing name may draw the eye, but the contents are arranged as a drinkable Hazy IPA, with a hop-forward build and a lower IBU design.
