Choshi Cheers, the Choshi City, Chiba-based company behind Choshi Beer, will begin selling its craft beer Choshi Ale at all 92 Choshimaru locations on July 24, 2026. Choshi Ale is an amber ale developed around the concept of a beer that pairs well with fish. According to the release, it features a toasted malt aroma, gentle bitterness, and a clean finish designed to complement sashimi, sushi, and grilled fish.

Choshi Beer has long positioned itself as a brand that communicates the food and culture of Choshi through beer. On its official site, the brewery describes the origin of the project as a return to the founder’s hometown and a desire to create something that local children and future generations can be proud of. That background makes this collaboration with a major sushi chain a natural extension of the brewery’s community-focused approach.

The nationwide rollout follows earlier pilot sales at several locations, including Park City Nakano, Shinjuku Subnade, and Standing Sushi Bar Yasuke at Ecute Akabane Minami. To mark the launch, customers who order Choshi Ale at Choshimaru will receive a limited collaboration sticker, with one sticker per bottle and 100 stickers per store while supplies last.
