Novol Brewing Releases Limited-Edition Black Beer “Nova 2026” in 50-Set Run
Novol Brewing in Miyazaki City has released “Nova 2026,” an imperial stout made with vanilla beans, in a limited run of 50 sets. Using more than 2.5 times the usual amount of malt, it is designed to evolve through aging after brewing.
A special black beer brewed only once a year
The “Nova 2026” released by Novol Brewing is a two-bottle set of imperial stout paired with vanilla beans. On the official online shop, it is available in a limited run of 50 sets for 7,800 yen. With an ABV of 11.5%, it uses more than 2.5 times the usual amount of malt along with roasted malt, and is said to be finished into a rich liquid through a double-mash process.
Designed to be enjoyed from brew day through aging
What makes this beer interesting is that it is meant to be enjoyed not only at the moment it is finished, but also as it changes afterward. Dense, fine foam reminiscent of espresso is layered with a smooth vanilla aroma, creating a composition that changes character as you keep drinking. The product page also suggests not only drinking it right away, but also letting it rest and enjoying the changes that come with aging.
