Brasserie Knot Starts Shipping Its Collaboration with T.Y. Harbor, "HARBOR 4%"
Brasserie Knot in Tsurui Village, Hokkaido, announced its March seasonal beer, "HARBOR 4%," made in collaboration with T.Y. Harbor Brewery in Tennozu, Tokyo. According to a March 18 post, it is a session IPA based on Knot's regular beer "BIRD," with kegs sold out and cans still available.
On March 18, Brasserie Knot unveiled its March seasonal beer "HARBOR 4%" on Instagram and began shipping it the same day.
The beer is a collaboration with T.Y. Harbor Brewery in Tennozu, Tokyo. The post explains that they "brought together ideas unique to collaboration based on Knot's BIRD," and says the beer is designed with layered hop aromas evoking tropical fruit and strawberry. The style is a session IPA, emphasizing crisp bitterness and a light body.
As for sales status, the kegs were already sold out at the time of the announcement. The cans, however, were still in stock, and the beer is being presented as one to enjoy in the early spring season.
Brasserie Knot, the collaboration partner, is a brewery in Tsurui Village in eastern Hokkaido. Brewing takes place in a facility renovated from the former Shimo-Moyori Elementary School, in a natural environment adjacent to Kushiro Marsh. On its official site, the brewery emphasizes a "clear flavor that blends into the air of eastern Hokkaido" and, in addition to five core beers, offers a wide range of seasonal releases. It has pursued beer-making that fits the region's food and everyday rhythms.
This "HARBOR 4%" can be seen as a beer that layers Knot's design philosophy with hop expression gained through collaboration with an urban brewery. Its structure, which puts lightness at the center while sharpening the contours of the aroma, gives a low-ABV session IPA the persuasive appeal of "just one more." As a spring release, it looks like a collaborative beer suited to any drinking occasion.
