Far Yeast Brewing’s Far Yeast IPA wins top honor at JBA 2026
Far Yeast Brewing announced that three of its core beers were recognized at the JBA 2026 national beer judging. Far Yeast IPA took the top prize, while Far Yeast Blonde and Far Yeast Lager also earned awards, marking a strong result for the brewery based in Kosuge, Yamanashi.
Far Yeast Brewing said on July 24 that three of its regular beers were honored at the traditional JBA National Craft Beer Quality Judging 2026. Among them, Far Yeast IPA received the top award, while Far Yeast Blonde and Far Yeast Lager each won excellent awards.
Far Yeast IPA is described as an IPA with bright citrusy hop aroma and a steadily building, satisfying bitterness. Far Yeast Blonde is positioned as a refined, easy-drinking beer with a clean finish, and Far Yeast Lager is known for its crisp, refreshing drinkability. Together, the three beers represent the brewery’s core lineup.
Based in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi, Far Yeast Brewing has built its identity around beers that are approachable yet distinct in character. The brewery also develops limited releases and collaboration beers, including projects that use Yamanashi-grown ingredients. In this announcement, the company said the result reflected the steady work and teamwork of its brewers, and it also reported the awards to the mayor of Kosuge Village.
The judging result underscores the consistency of Far Yeast Brewing’s flagship beers and adds another milestone for a brewery that continues to connect its local base with a broader craft beer audience.
