New Release 'Raven'
Flora Fermentation of Higashiomi, Shiga Prefecture, has released a new West Coast IPA called 'Raven.' It has an ABV of 7.5% and an IBU of 41. The malt bill uses Pale Ale Malt and Wheat Malt White, and the hops combine Cascade Deep Cut CGX NUVO with Citra, Centennial, Cascade, and Chinook, brewed as Batch No. 76.
The key point of this beer is that it uses cryo-processed lupulin concentrate powder that locks in the aroma of fresh hops. The caption explains that the grapefruit and pine impression from generous use of C-hop varieties is layered with aromas reminiscent of resin and grass. With firm bitterness and a light body, it is designed to drink crisply and smoothly.
Flora Fermentation is a brewery that champions "the finest beer woven from agriculture and fermentation." In Higashiomi, it continues to produce distinctive releases while connecting local farming with beer making. This 'Raven' is another beer that clearly reflects that stance.
In the sales notice, Raven cans are listed as shipments through April 13 for distribution to select stores, and will be stocked at liquor shops and beer bars nationwide from Hokkaido to Oita. If you're interested, you'll want to check stock with individual stores while searching.
