Repubrew Sells Barrel-Only Beer by Crowler for Its 9th Anniversary
Repubrew in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, has started selling crowler fills of its barrel-only beer as part of its 9th anniversary project. The first release is "UME九GOSE," which can also be enjoyed at home under the conditions of made-to-order production and a five-day best-before date.
Repubrew, based in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is launching a new 9th anniversary project by selling beers that could previously only be enjoyed on tap in crowlers. This initiative makes the beers that have been served at the tap available to more people at home.
The first lineup item is the 9th anniversary beer, "UME九GOSE." In the post, the brewery explains that this was realized from the desire to have more people drink more of Repubrew's different beers. Sales are limited to made-to-order production, with the assumption that it should be enjoyed as soon as possible after arrival.
The key point is clear: the best-before date is set at five days. This is because, compared with ordinary canned packaging, dissolved oxygen tends to be higher and deterioration is harder to avoid. It is both a restriction to maintain quality and a condition that brings the freshness of draft beer closer to home.
The order period is one week, until 11:59 p.m. on April 14, 2026. Shipping is scheduled for April 15. Repubrew is a brewery centered in Numazu City that has been sharing regionally rooted beers through its taproom and online sales. This crowler release is worth noting as a new way of delivering that continues along the same path.
