The brewpub Free Spirits Brewing in Himeji's Kubomachi announced the advance ticket release for Bakuen HYOGO2026, to be held on April 18 and 19.

The brewery is a Himeji craft brewery centered on American-style IPA, while also making fruit beers such as one using local yuzu. Its official website also highlights an initiative in which barley malt left over from brewing is delivered to nearby farms and reused as cattle feed, reflecting a strong emphasis on making beer with ties to the local community.

"Bakuen HYOGO2026" is an event focused on Hyogo craft beer and local food, and the venue is Canal Town Plaza in front of JR Hyogo Station. Admission is free, and 21 breweries from across Hyogo Prefecture are expected to bring more than 80 kinds of beer. In addition, this year will feature a limited brewing project themed around sake, "Ishu Dogen ~In the Case of Sake~," in which 14 breweries will simultaneously tap collaboration beers created together with sake breweries in Hyogo Prefecture.

Free Spirits Brewing is also listed among the participating breweries in this limited brewing project. For a brewery in Himeji that continues to make beer with a distinctive character, the event should also serve as a place to broaden its connection with producers in the prefecture and with sake culture. Beer fans will want to pay attention not only to the core lineup and seasonal releases, but also to the chance to compare these event-only expressions side by side.
